White water stains all over the carpet where water is now dry?

We had a leaking water with our BC, and got water in it! we did not know about the spill until hours later, and had dried out, but now we have these specific gross white all over the carpet, which seems to have spotted … kind of reminds me of mold! What is it? And how do I get rid of it or clean it up?

It 'probably mineral deposits, similar to the scale that builds around faucets. You can try rubbing the carpet slightly diluted with Lime Away or some other product that contains phosphoric acid or an acid-containing product that is designed to removal of mineral deposits. If you are concerned about how the acid would affect support for the carpet, you might first try something a little 'less aggressive, such as vinegar and a scrub brush. In all cases, do not wet the carpet, and maybe try what you're going to use on a small hidden place.
