Five tips to avoid Road Rage
Road Rage is a term that, unfortunately, we have become increasingly aware of how the media covers a growing number of "Road Rage" incidents. We are all aware of the harrowing stories of mild mannered commuters turned cold-blooded killers, and we are quite sure that this does not never happen to us. We ourselves – will probably never become a murderess in cold blood simply because some Jackass cut us off on the highway. While Most of us are almost immune to such terrible fits of anger, many of us are victims of a sort of mild Road Rage.
I am guilty of having committed some pretty serious "Road Rage" offenses in my day. I was punished at school for some very rude things I said (or rather, shouted) to a bus driver in the parking lot of the school. DC on the highway, holding up my middle finger (together with my voice) has become a reflex, it was almost as natural to use the turn signal. I had no intention of going to kill someone, but my behavior that could have got me killed.
This mild form of road rage is very common and very harmful. Furthermore obvious safety risk that arises, is unhealthy and the United Nations for the pleasant Rager and his terrified passengers. The driver in a fit of anger has inspired traffic high blood pressure (which has both immediate and long-term security risks), muscle tension, and high levels of adrenaline and cortisol. All these things are a real danger the health of a person.
A little 'people who have reported nightmares, irritability, excessive testing after driving, and excessive anxiety due to of these episodes. Is clear that the person experiencing road rage is damaged significantly.
The good news is that road rage should not happen. There are several ways to calm down and relax and cope with the stress associated with driving in a healthy and productive way. Here are five tips that I used to reduce my explosions on the automotive sector:
1) breathing techniques: I take a deep breath, hold it for a number of five, and release. This reduces in fact more Sometimes the tension that the body is holding. While I'm doing this, I imagine that stress, anxiety and tension fill my lungs, and being blown out my body when I exhale.
2) Avoid aggravating circumstances: For me, traffic is aggravating, but it's aggravating when I'm worried that might make me late. So if I'm going to be driving somewhere that could have on traffic, I leave up to an hour and a half in advance and bring a book or a bit 'of work do when I arrive. So, my mind is put at ease and the traffic is easier to deal with. I also plan routes, which are less likely to get me involved in a mess of traffic. Each person has their own triggers for situations of road rage, and may be useful to sort through these triggers and try to avoid the stressful situation.
3) The allegations detachment: The Post points out in my car (one on my dashboard, and one on the wheel, right where I want to press the horn. One of them says: "I am calm and peaceful, because what is good for me. That on the Horn says:" I think before you speak. "
4) Preparation for the critical moment: I have two balls of stress in my glove compartment, a CD with soothing music, and a water bottle in my car at any time. When things get rough, I put on CD, out of stress balls (two of which can be used in stop and go traffic), and have a glass of water. This is a great way to be breathing exercises.
5) Change the mindset: I've seen a hypnotherapist, and I continue to practice self-hypnosis to address anger issues in my life. I did a lot of work with triggers that I have identified in tip # 2. Now, a lot of things that were bothering me, just not do.
These five tips you can take the edge off of your driving experience. The important thing to remember is that anger is in you: it is from you, it hurts, and you blizzard. You can be angry with someone or something else, but that anger is something inside. You owe it to yourself to deal suitable. Not much of a safety problem for others is your safety and your health is at stake. If you can change the way you react and the things you do, you can find the happy experience of relaxation during your commute.
